About Angela

Angela Schreiber brings over two decades of experience in education to her role as a curriculum and assessment specialist for the TEKS Resource System, where she focuses on K-8 curriculum development and assessments for Reading Language Arts. Throughout her career, Angela has served in roles including elementary self-contained teacher, middle school language arts teacher, GT specialist, language arts curriculum specialist, instructional coach, and assistant principal. She holds a master’s degree from Texas State University and a doctoral degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Angela is a longstanding member of TCTELA, and she is a contributor to NCTE’s This Story Matters campaign, where she crafts book rationales to advocate for diverse and meaningful literature.

Coaching Practices to Prepare Students for the STAAR ECR

TEKS RS Presents: Practices to Prepare for the STAAR ECR” will provide instructional coaches with a text analysis and writing toolkit to support teachers in ECR preparation. Sharing strategies from the TEKS RS ELAR STAAR ECR Prompt Annotation and Writing Guide, this session will provide attendees with a research-based framework that pairs analysis of complex text with planning and producing effective academic writing in response to text.
