How to Navigate the Triage of Behavior as a Coach

When classroom behavior feels chaotic, it can be hard for teachers to know where to start. As coaches, we’re often called in to “fix” the classroom, but real change starts with understanding what’s driving the problem. Is it an academic deficit or a behavior deficit? In this session, we’ll explore how brain science—especially the roles of dopamine, social interaction, and executive functioning—shapes student behavior and impacts learning. You’ll gain tools to help teachers reframe challenging behavior through a developmental lens, prioritize interventions, and make connections between emotional regulation and academic growth. Walk away with practical strategies to support teachers in building strong, brain-aligned learning environments—without burning out.
