The 2019 Charter School Summer Summit is the sixth annual conference sponsored by theNetwork as part of the Charter School Improvement and Technical Assistance Grant from TEA.

This event will feature two fabulous keynote speakers, international keynote speaker Angela Maiers and Superintendent, Dr. Joe Sanfelippo. There will more than 40 breakout sessions on standards of operations, finance, education, and governance delivered by TEA specialists, ESC Consultants, TASB, and personnel from innovative charters across the state of Texas!

2019 Keynote Speakers

Dr. Joe Sanfelippo

Dr. Joe Sanfelippo is the Superintendent of the Fall Creek School District in Fall Creek, WI. The Fall Creek School District was named an Innovative District in 2016 and 2017 by the International Center for Leadership in Education. Joe holds a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from St. Norbert College, an MS in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, an MS in Educational Leadership, and a PhD in Leadership, Learning, and Service from Cardinal Stritch University.

Joe is also an adjunct professor in the Educational Leadership Department at Viterbo University. Joe has taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 5th Grade. He was also a school counselor and high school coach prior to taking on an elementary principal position in 2005. He has served as a principal in suburban and rural Wisconsin.

Angela Maiers

Angela Maiers is considered one of today’s most influential thought leaders in education and transformative thinking. It is fair to say when she speaks, she leaves no room unchanged. Most recently, she has been named by Forbes as one of the Top 5 Edupreneurs to Watch; by IBM as one of the Top 20 Global Influencers, among the Top 100 Women in Technology by Onalytics, and among the Top 20 Education Thought Leaders by TrustEd.

She is the author of 9 books on education, including the noted Genius Matters and Classroom Habitudes, and was for many years a prolific contributor to the Huffington Post on innovation, technology, and education.
